The ones being pitted here are using racism and violence to support conservative ideas. I thought conservatives were kindler and gentler these days, I guess not.
And further, Starving Artist Mexico is bearing the pain of the US’s appetite for illegal drugs. No US drug money, and suddenly the cartels aren’t nearly so lucrative.
If a Mexican decides they don’t want their kids to face being gun downed by US funded bullets, or to face starvation, and sneaks across the border are they “flaunting the law” anymore than a mother who steals bread to feed her kid?
But of course preaching about people facing difficult times doesn’t lead to little kids being gunned down in their home like preaching about lawless criminals taking your job.
Instead it might lead to actual dialog to resolve everyone’s problems. Can’t have that, because it’d mean brown people count.
And maybe if the United States government would do what it should and put a stop to illegal immigration and the crime that goes along with it, no environment would exist in which people would find it necessary to feel fear and hate.
You guys always blame the symptoms when you’re the reason for the disease.
Illegal immigrants and the crime that results from their being here - along with frustration born of no one doing absolutely nothing to stop it - is what’s causing the hatred and fear that exists.
Fear and hatred is a common reaction to being victimized, and it’s a perfectly understandable and legitimate reaction. People in the southwest are being victimized by the influx of illegal immigrants and the crime that piggy backs on top of it. Put a stop to the victimization and you’ll put a stop to the hatred and fear. It’s just that simple.
By calling these people bigots and haters you are blaming the victims. And what’s worse, you’re blaming the victims for reacting to crimes that you are largely responsible for.
Again, put a stop to illegal immigration and its concomitant crime, and the problems of fear and hate that they cause will simply evaporate. Continue to support illegal immigration and turn a blind eye to the crime that comes along with it, and the fear and hate will keep getting worse.
The ball’s in your court. It’s up to you to put a stop to all this.
Oh, please. The drug purveyers are the proactive ones in this equation. They grow the plants the drugs are derived from, they establish intricate networks to get it into the country, and they are the ones who peddle it. And they kill lots and lots of their competitors. So I utterly reject the argument that it is the purchaser who is the problem. Without these people peddling the drugs that they’ve gone to such extremes to get here, people would not be buying them, would they? People do not have an inborn desire to do drugs. It has to be provided first in order to get people addicted, and then the supply line has to be maintained afterward to feed their addiction. This is the very reason that prison penalties are much, much more harsh for dealers than for users. Once again you are blaming the victims. Why are you so inclined to do that? It absolutely boggles my mind that people can think the way you do.
I have a brown woman living next door to me. She came here legally from Mexico after spending eight years and investing a considerable amount of money in fees and so forth to get here. And she has done very well. She’s in charge of 12 McDonald’s restaurants owned by another brown guy who came here legally forty years ago and worked his way up from washing dishes and mopping floors at McDonald’s to owning 35 stores now and became a multi-millionaire in the process. Clearly they counted and still do. The notion that the only way we can show that brown people count is to let them flood unabated into the U.S. is nonsense. If we built a high enough and sturdy enough wall and manned it properly and used ground penetrating technology to thwart tunnels, we could eliminate most of the drugs that come into this country and most of the illegal immigrants as well. If neither have a way to get into the country, there isn’t much point in anyone shooting anyone anymore, is there?

Who started the derail? That would be you. Who apologised for their part in the derail? That would be you. Who said they’d back out of the thread? That would be you. Who came back just hours later to continue the derail? That would be you.
I dunno how you were raised, but apologising for doing something then continuing to do isn’t what you’re supposed to do if you have any degree of honour in your body. If your apology has any merit, what you need to do is keep to your word that you’d back out of the thread and shut up for once in your life.
