Justice League: Doom

Wondering if anyone else saw this. I found it really well done. I think the title may have been misleading for some since it suggests this would be the Superman’s death story (a la Doomsday) but it is actually an adaptation of the Tower of Babel story wherein the secret contingency plans Batman keeps on the other JLA members are stolen and used against them.

It is very entertaining and worth seeing for fans but it seemed like they were going for a darker take on the material but then back away (there is a sequence with Green Lantern that could have been very affecting but they copped out at the last minute).

Also many of the “Classic” voices from the DC Animated universe are back which was a nice touch. Anyone else see it? What did you think?

I enjoyed it - I’d put it in the ranks of the better half of the DCU Animated features released straight-to-DVD. It’s not as good as Crisis on Two Earths, but it is solid. I was particularly impressed with Hal Jordan - Nathan Fillion’s voicework was solid, his dialogue was well-written, and GL’s use of constructs was creative and visually engaging.

The ending of the story resonated more in the comics, where we knew there was a next issue coming, so the chance Batman would be kicked off the time had more significance.

I also firmly believe that Vandal Savage should have a mustache and full beard. But that’s a minor quibble.
