Is Arlo losing it? Going soft in the head w/o Helen around to keep his feet on the ground?
Mr. Quarles sends Duffy to find out everything he can about Raylan, so he knows “where to apply pressure.” And he makes a false assumption that’s going to have some very bad consequences.
I get the feeling that we’re about to kick this show into high gear.
Yeah, I was wondering about Arlo. He was too even-keeled to be drunk, as I first thought, but something was very wrong. Maybe dementia? Drugs?
Quarles is great. Just so balls-out bad. I can’t wait to see his reaction when he tries to use Arlo against Raylan, only to find Raylan doesn’t care.
Limehouse is also fantastic. He’s so laidback, but you know there’s an uncontrollable rage just under the surface.
The ending with Charlie the evidence room guy was kind of funny and reminded me of another Elmore Leonard story, but I can’t remember which one. I’m just wondering how we’ll see it come back to bite someone in the ass.
Lots to love this season, but I’m having trouble figuring out who’s doing what to who. Scene by scene, it’s fantastic every week, but the plotting makes my head spin.
I like that we’ll be getting out of Kentucky for awhile. Raylan in Mexico? Has he been there before? I can’t remember.
I especially like how Raylan and Winona left things. They admit they love each other but they realize things are too unsettled. And Winona’s right, if Raylan wanted to change (jobs), he would have done it by now.
I also like that Raylan didn’t know Winona had left him before, back when he got shot. Art can keep his secrets. Mostly.
Call me a cynic, but after seeing the bad guys snooping into Raylon’s weaknesses, chances of Winona carrying to full term just dropped drastically. Don’t rush off to buy any baby clothes for the baby shower just yet.
Love this show. I really should invest in a funeral parlor in Harlan though. It would make a lot of money.
Exactly. We watched in last night and I said to my wife that I could not keep up with who was doing what to whom.
I’m still confused about the guys at the mobile clinic, who stole the Oxy from the other guys. They were with Quarles weren’t they? Then Wynn told Quarles and he said it was too obvious for him. Then Limehouse’s guy confessed to being behind it? WTF?
“More importantly, however, it comes to light that an employee of Limehouse had orchestrated the hit on Boyd’s Oxy business – in an attempt to force Quarles and Boyd into wiping each other out. Limehouse reprimands the young man, suggesting the move will bring unwanted and disastrous attention to Nobel’s Holler, but vows to finish what has been started.”
I’m not boxing it – it’s been four days since the episode aired.
Well, I guess the pieces are falling in place for the rest of the season. I still need a program to tell the players.
I hope Gary coming back doesn’t mean we’ll have a Winona in distress episode. I hate those.
I liked the subplot with the shady sheriff, like seeing Jim Beaver again, liked Art giving Raylan the green light because Art was talked down to by the “Feebs”, liked Limehouse and his bank, liked the look on Wynn Duffy’s face when he realizes the kind of man he’s in bed with.
Yeah, between the comments, “Paint the room.” “You can’t paint over blood…<glare>…Yes, sir.”
and the guy Gary recognized telling Q. that “The room’s ready.” I don’t think Gary is coming back to KY in an upright, or breathing, fashion.
I also liked that Gary didn’t realize the trouble he was in when Q called him Gary, instead of Walter, the name on his tag. Sure knows it now that Duffy popped up, though.
