Wow! Ten headlines and ten separate articles all stemming from this one event. I have never ever seen so many headlines regarding a single story on Drudge before and I just cannot understand why they are reacting with such enormous alarm to this event.
Other youngster celebs have gotten into much worse trouble before and it seems to me that none of them have ever attracted this much attention.
So, I want to ask, "What are the odds Justin will make it to age 30? I ask this because so many other young celebs who wind up dead don’t seem to make it to this age.
Allegedly, Bieber’s companion was charged with more offenses than he was. At least, I remember reading that but I can’t find it now. That’s why I’m curious as to all this alarm. If that is correct, then he why is there such great concern about Bieber if his companion was charged with more crimes than he was?
Some other member of this forum has used the adjective “entitled” before to refer to those elderly Koreans in the McDonalds who buy one coffee and then stay for many hours to socialize. But if anyone ever deserved to be called “entitled”, I would think it was Bieber. He became a big star at a very young age and even though he is extremely talented, his behaviour seems to be very outlandish. I would think that if anyone could be described as burning the candle at both ends and maybe going to snuff out his life early, it would be him.
Paraphrasing Allan Swann: “I’m not a musician, I’m a POP STAR!!”
Hey, 19 AND stinkin’ rich and popular? Damn right there will be much stupid behavior. Y’see if it were a female pop star this would be the time for drunken “accidental” forgot-my-panties Kodak moments. Being a dude, it’s drunken Brazilian escort encounters/Florida supercar shenanigans. (Was another monkey misplaced in the course of this incident?)
BTW if he doesn’t have a license, then that someone else signed for the Lambo and then let him drive unauthorized is the simplest explanation.
When he started out, he made it because he was insanely talented and driven (and adorable of course). He worked hard to learn how to play various instruments and sing. He put a lot of effort into his craft.
Then he let all the fame and money go to his head and he’s turned into a grade A jerk.
I think I can speak for all baby boomers about the admiration and affection we have for Keith Richards. The Stones are one of many soundtracks to our lives. We admire that Keith has shot, snorted, drank and main-lined just about everything imaginable, yet still writes songs, tours and apparently loves his job.
What if all of this is a marketing ploy to move Bieber into the bad-boy category so that he’s not just the idol of teenaged girls. What if this is a calculated plan to remake his image so that he has a wider range of followers, for example males and females in their 20s and possibly 30s?
What if he becomes the Jim Morrison of today’s pop culture? Hey, I’m just throwing it out there for comment, because really getting clocked at 60 MPH in a Lamborghini and immediately admitting to drinking, smoking pot, and taking prescription drugs sounds like a really good start to attempting to mold a new image.
It is def possible. But the one big problem he should have with that is that becoming the Jim Morrison of today’s pop culture would require dying when he is in his 20s and I can’t see that anyone would be willing to accept that. Unless maybe he could then buy his own island and fake his death and then hide out on that island for a long, long time. I would think he’d need to find a companion who would be willing to sign up for that journey and I’m guessing he might have a problem there. Not a problem finding a young lady who would sign up but a problem keeping her there on the island for that length of time. She would probably try to escape after a few years. Wouldn’t you think?
I don’t think it would work. Nowadays, people don’t invest money and emotion and bandwidth in someone they figure might die before they get tired of him.
