Just an FYI:
The following example of the idea of this thread, that is below, does briefly and non-descriptively have a line or two of dialogue of each of the following topics:
Killing a baby
Raping your mother
The author wishing death upon himself.
Okay, here we go:
I just ran across this for the first time.
It’s the The Misfits* song "Last Caress" played over of a scene of some very happy young people dancing their hearts out in a (in my words) 1950s style Sock Hop. (Now, I’m not old enough to have experienced a '50s style “Sock Hop” and I have no clue what actually went on in a “Sock Hop”, so, there’s that for you.)
It’s a bunch of very enthusiastic kids jimmy-jamming their Jim-Jams.
The juxtaposition of these elements had me laughing my face off.
I love juxtaposition. From the meaning of the word to the sound of the word to the spelling of the word. It’s just, neat.
I chose my username because of it. The concept of one being drunk (like an adult) contrasting with a lovable childrens’ character just tickled me funny bones.
So does this video. The eyeball info is of happy people. The earball info is of murdering babies and other horrible things.
I think it’s brilliant in its crass and crudeness and delight.
Now down to the actual point of this thread.
What juxtapositional art work, of any medium, be it paint, film, music, sculpture, photograph, melon, or whatever that you enjoy or strikes your fancy would you like to share.?.
*I lurvs me some The Misfits. Both the Danzig era and the Greaves era.
