Maybe he should have said this:
If you blow up innocent people, you forfeit all of your rights and should be hunted down like dogs. I can live with that.
This is gonna kick over a whole great big can of worms, but I’ll ask it anyway:
Other than the bubbleheads up in Ireland, are there any non-Muslim terrorists left? It seems to me that since they comprise the bulk of the fanatics, we are depriving ourselves of a great deal of security by not focusing in on them for fear of seeming “racist” or bigoted.
I don’t really know what to do to stop the suicide bombings, but what Kalt said, while extreme, is actually a fairly popular opinion with a lot of people right now, right or wrong.
Kalt is, IMO, very wrong. I’m far too tired and far too drunk to come up with a suitable rebuttal but I would plead with subsequent posters not to take the easy route and just blast Kalt for the sake of it. Try being patient and logical instead. After all, you aint gonna change his mind by calling him a bigoted motherfucker.
From the US State Dept’s list of terrorist groups:
http://www.state.gov/s/ct/rls/fs/2002/12389.htm
None of these are of a particularly islamic bent.
Aum Shinrikyo
Basque Fatherland and Liberty (ETA)
Kahane Chai (Kach)
Kurdistan Freedom and Democracy Congress (marxist)
Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam
National Liberation Army (Columbia)
Real IRA
Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC)
Revolutionary Nuclei
Revolutionary Organization 17 November
Revolutionary People’s Liberation Army/Front
Shining Path (Sendero Luminoso, SL)
United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia
Communist Party of the Philippines/New People’s Army
And that’s just the official list. Include home-grown terrorist groups operating in the Congo, in what used to be Yugoslavia, in Liberia and the Ivory Coast, and you’ve got plenty of terrorism unrelated to islam.
Hell, over 3 million people have died in the Congo as a result of internecine war and terrorist attacks! But we’ve barely noticed here.
To call anyone a bigoted motherfucker is rather strong and personal. Unnecessary and rude.
But I WILL say this after seeing Guinastacia’s examples and a couple of other examples of my own:
Kalt.is.a.special.kind.of.somebody.
What really got me, more than anything, was the “Human rights have to be earned” quote.
I mean, if they have to be earned, then, really-they’re no longer human rights, are they?
Thanks. I had no idea.
I think the problem, Qagdop, is we don’t hear much about terrorists that aren’t killing our civilians, or the civilians of our imporant allies (Israel for example).
Oh, and Airman-it’s good to hear from you again-are you back yet?
DEVA, to be fair, I called him a bigoted “piece of shit”, rather than a “motherfucker.” The distinction is subtle, but it’s there.
Yeah, I’m back. And ready to stir up trouble, like I usually do. You know me.
I hope that pitting Kalt gives you some visceral relief. It will not change his views or the expression of them. As I noted on the linked thread:
I doubt that pitting him or attempting to argue against his little world view will do much more than give him the satisfaction of knowing he’s riled you up. However, de gustibus non est disputandum.
Um, not it’s not. You’ve cherry-picked less than 40% of the entire list, to prove your, um, point.
In the interest of fairness, here is the entire list:

Abu Sayyaf Group
Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade
Armed Islamic Group (GIA)

Um, milroyj, the question was whether non-Muslim terrorist organizations existed, apart from Northern Ireland. Nothing to do with how many there are.
Yes, you’re right. For perspective, though, I felt that the whole list should be presented. YMMV.
Why?
BTW, that list should also include all of our own homegrown terrorists, i.e white supremacists, militia morons, abortion clinic bombers, etc.
I think his point was while Muslim extremists aren’t the only wackos, they do in fact comprise the majority, at least when listed by organization.
Would that be the Catholic bubbleheads? Or the Protestant bubbleheads?
You forgot to list the Peoples Front of Judea.
[speaking to milroyj, not Airman]
So what?
