Well, sperfur brought droolingly good marinated steak, and the day before she had made us all presents of Russell Stover’s chocolate! Good for her! SkipMagic and auntie em brought burgers, hotdogs, charcoal and all the trimmings, and I understand some other Dopers tried at least to chip in on that. MamaHen brought, among other things, Dr. Pepper, which I love. Someone else brought cookies, Fritos and dip, and I’m sorry to say I don’t remember who it was. I also brought cookies, snickerdoodles, and chocolate chip and I brought two pies, a rhubarb pie and a mulberry pie. Suffice it to say nobody went away hungry.
I am quite sad that I missed it. Since I don’t have a car I never get out and around anywhere and everyone I know I know from work. Since I’m currently having Issues with work people, I really could have used getting away from it all. Do any of you ever swing by Wichita? I know there is absolutely nothing to do here, but it’s a shot at least. I never got to meet the Japan Dopers, so I’m at least hoping to meet some people while living here…
Don’t forget, everybody who was there: you’re all supposed to email dropzone and imthjckaz and tell them in graphic detail about the lucious steak and wonderful time they missed. Thank you, Whammo! and SkipMagic for grilling! Your cooking skills are awesome!
SkipMagic did a fantastic job organizing the whole she-bang, brought tons of food and fed us well. Baker let me take home the rest of her cookies, and I’m not sharing this time. I was too full to try her pies (BLASPHEMY!!!) but will definately try it next time.
I enjoyed meeting those I’d not met before as well as seeing the ones I already knew. We should do this more often!

Don’t worry, though; hopefully, if things work out, we’re going to try a few more get-togethers.

Oh yeah, got back to Arkansas abouit 10 PM, weather was good the whole way … butt’s flat…

This was the first time I’ve met any Dopers face-to-face. Boy what a mistake!!! 
But seriously folks, thanks for a great time out and it was more than a pleasure to meet such a motley crew. Hopefully next time I’ll be stay for the full program. (Horseflesh, sperfur: how was the Levee?)

What an amazing weekend! First I have to thank SkipMagic for arranging the whole weekend and for taking in the lost strays who had no place to go Saturday between activities. Thanks to sperfur for flirting with me and for giving my first SteakO. Thanks to Baker for the pies, I managed to get home with both of them. Thanks to horseflesh for his sexy “I’m a Little Teapot” dance, I can’t get that tune out of my head still. Thanks to Whammo for driving 2 hours out of his way both days to pick me up. Thanks to LadyDragon for the great advice and the memory of the brass bra. Thanks to Hey you! for just having a great name that was tons of fun to say. Thanks to Erika and Mirror Image egamI rorriM for just being amazing and sweet. Lastly thanks to auntie em for just knowing we were coming to her house and not freaking out about the invasion. Thank you all for the great weekend, when are we doing it again? 
I had an incredibly good time with everyone who showed for any of the events this weekend. Special thanks goes to all of you Dopers who traveled far to be with us.
I’ll write more–later–once work calms down. They just get all wacky when President Bush shows up to speak.
