Karate student stomps on man's head, his teacher posts the video on Youtube 25 years later

The article helpfully describes the beating in detail, which is helpful for those like myself who would prefer not to view the clip. The author of the article is apparently unaware of the hard work done by the folks at bushido.net, who first investigated this incident.

Examiner.com article: Examiner is back - Examiner.com
No new material, but it’s interesting to see the story emerge from the blogosphere.

Along those lines, France24 has a concise writeup:
US Web users investigate.

I think that’s part of why it is so uncomfortable. The video IS funny, until the guy gets his head stomped on. If I went into that blind it probably would have been pretty awful because I probably would have been giggling a little bit even though I still thought it was wrong.

Taken a bit of MA myself - I strongly vote making shit up.

Here’s a screen shot of the discussion section of Blythe’s YouTube page; remarks show lack of remorse. Link from SomethingAwful. And here is a claimed quote of the YouTube page, etc. from here Comments are in reverse chronological order, the newest (on top) appears to be from July or Aug, the oldest from April or May.

It looks like he had had some training in the past. Maybe a couple of months worth, but that’s all.

here is an article about the incident that highlights all of the recent updates and information uncovered about the video

That is one horribly written article. It is rife with grammatical errors, spelling and punctuation mistakes, and downright unprofessional writing.

Par for the course for Associated Content. It’s the Wikipedia of amateur journalism.

I’m not normally one for RO, but as a martial arts lover this one bothers me (I did not watch the video as I enjoy getting my sleep at night, thankyouverymuch.) From what’s described here, it’s such a poor reflection on those who study with discipline and integrity. I don’t suggest that all martial arts instructors ought to be held accountable for the actions of their students, but when you have an entire Dojo of people sharing this attitude, it definitely points to the irresponsibility and immaturity of the instructor. I am appalled.

From the article:

In the video, Blythe says the victim got promoted to tenth degree red belt by Jesus Christ. The victim replies that he got promoted by The Tiger, and says that the Tiger is a descendant of Jesus Christ. He then points to the crease of his elbow and says “here is The Tiger”. A few moments Later Blythe asks him, “Who’d you say promoted you to tenth degree red belt?” The victim’s reply: “Jesus.” A few more moments later Blythe says, “I know everyone of us would like to be taught by someone that has been taught by Jesus. Correct John? Because I guarantee you, that’s got to be some movements to behold”. Then he looks at the victim and asks, “Right?” The victim start off with “Well, I won’t brag or anything of that nature, but…”

He wasn’t this guy, was he? He’s pretty well stuck to the floor there at the end.
