Proving things to Dopers is hard, and that is as it should be. I’ve made the case about as strongly as it can be made with the level of evidence at hand at the moment. I’m all right with that.
I think the official Bush Presidential Office line on the Plame Scandal is that no one did it maliciously out of a desire for partisan gain, but several high ranked members of the staff did it out of sheer stupidity, for no reason whatsoever.
These are your chosen leaders, people. You have exactly the government you deserve.

It’s easy to convince onesself of what one is predisposed to believe. One simply has to see only the things one wants to see and ignore all the evidence and reasoning that other people offer. That’s how Bush and Cheney got us into Iraq, ironically enough.
Nothing so innocent. A careful deliberation on deceit was what I saw unfold.
Techncially, yes. I should have said that’s how Bush and Cheney convinced themselves we needed to go into Iraq. The deception you refer to came later. Fortunately, our OP doesn’t make public policy, so he isn’t able to take that step.
I’ve read through the whole thead carefully. FWIW, Evil Captor, I think the case for the “prosecution” is very weak, to the point of being vanishingly small. And I say that from the perspective of someone who can think of nothing good to say about the current administration.
