BBC has an article.
They throw out some potential names.
- Alina Habba
- Katie Miller
- Anna Kelly
- Sage Steele
- Steven Cheung
- Tricia McLaughlin
- Scott Jennings
Habba makes sense to me, as she has somewhat served in that role already, in a narrow sense; she was Trump’s “lawyer”, but her primary role has been to show up on TV and act as a mouthpiece for him. On the other hand, she is a incompetent idiot and a source of embarrassment for the administration. On the other other hand, being incompetent is not much of a disqualifier for this administration, and it seems mostly immune to embarrassment, so she still seems like a very likely pick.
Katie Miller is Steven Miller’s wife. Yes, she is married to Temu Voldemort. So, being in proximity to creepy men must give her a sense of comfort. She is a conservative influencer and actually seems more competent than Habba, but again, I don’t know that the administration cares about that.
Anna Kelly is the current deputy press secretary, so she’s already somewhat in the role, she is only 29 years old, and is a former beauty pageant contestant (having previously won “Miss State Fair of Virginia” and “Miss Madison” in Wisconsin). She also has a Master’s Degree in Political Management. She seems like another very likely pick to me.
Sage Steele is a former TV anchor and sportscaster, campaigned for Trump in the last election, and is a prominent conservative media figure. But she’s a Black woman in her 50s, and I doubt Trump would be interested.
Steven Cheung looks like Kim Jong Un cosplaying as Humpty Dumpty, so he doesn’t have the shallow traits that Trump looks for, but he’s a bootlicker who Trump trusts and he does not shy away from attacking people, so I could actually see Trump putting him in as press secretary to go after reporters that Trump doesn’t like.
Tricia McLaughlin is a young (just a couple of years older than Anna Kelly) superficially attractive blonde woman with a lot of experience acting as a mouthpiece for Trump on TV and has served going all the way back to the previous administration, so she seems very likely.
Scott Jennings is a CNN contributor and one of those people that was originally a Trump critic but turned into an ass-kisser (think Lindsay Graham). Trump tends to love people like that for some reason. The Daily Beast has actually named him as the frontrunner.
