Kate Middleton is pregnant again. She has to be nuts

I thought she was nuts to have a second child, after having hyperemesis gravidarum with the first, ETA and the second as well, and guess what? She’s going through the same thing again. :frowning: Must be worth it to her, I guess.

I do wish them the best.

She’s been through it twice before, so she knows what to expect and her own ability to handle it.

From what I’ve seen of her first two children, I can see thinking it would be worth it to have a third like them. Royal or not, they are some of the cutest children ever.

Harry is probably pushing them to have as many as put as much distance between the throne and himself.

I thought morning sickness got easier after you’ve had the first baby?

My wife’s second pregnancy was much easier. She got sick a few times. It was a lot worse with the first baby.

Wikipedia says her second pregnancy was not as bad as the first.

What she had wasn’t normal morning sickness. And no, there is not a universal pattern that all women adhere to.

As someone who didn’t experience morning sickness, I am anecdotal proof that there is not a universal pattern.

I read of someone who was aghast that she’d have 3 children under 5!! How could she manage, what with having a nanny and all??? Sheesh, I wasn’t yet 3 and my sister was just over 1 when my brother was born, so 3 kids under 3, and Mom didn’t have anyone to help her out. It’s not easy but it’s not impossible.

Given that those children are basically going to have no peers other than their siblings who fully get what it’s like to grow up in the royal fishbowl, I can certainly understand why they might want to have as many kids as possible. Mutual moral support, and all.

William and Kate seem like a very happy couple and I think it’s great that they want to have more children. I don’t understand the cynical snarkiness. William had a privileged but difficult childhood abruptly ended by tragedy. If he and the woman he clearly loves want to have a big, happy family now, then more power to them.

Why do people still call her “Kate Middleton”? I’m no fan of the monarchy as an institution, but she is a married woman, and took on her husband’s name and titles.

What’s her husband’s last name?

Windsor, IIRC.

I wish her a safe and healthy pregnancy

Cambridge

And in that cramped house they have to share with the brother-in-law too.

Arguably it’s Mountbatten-Windsor, though he used Wales prior to getting his peerage and now uses Cambridge instead.

It’s less awkward than “The Duchess of Cambridge” or Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (which is only correct if she get’s divorced) or Duchess Kate (which is just wrong).

So should we preface things by “The Duchess formerly known as”? Because it’s much easier for people to know who we mean than if we use any royal title.

The baby will presumably be the third person to have a Wikipedia page before they are born. I bet you can guess the first two.

She comes from a family of three children and says she had a wonderful childhood, they all still seem quite close to this day. I can understand wanting to have the same for my kids.

Plus these two will be expected to pick up lots of slack when the Queen slows down further. If Kate wants that time with her kids one on one, in their early years, she’d best get them out while the Queen is still kicking, it seems to me.

My Mom had three kids under three as well, and no disposable diapers, can you imagine? Eighteen months later she had a fourth!

IIRC, after Kid #2, Miz Kate decreed that was going to be the last.

What happened? Accident?

I don’t think that’s the kind of thing that would be publicly announced.

I don’t think she has too much trouble raising them…just the prego parts that are troublesome…like y’all said,She has plenty of help…maybe Charles and Camilla babysit or something…i wouldn’t let uncle Harry near them…he is cute but crazy

The royals do eventually age out of that kind of thing. Remember Uncle Andrew? Randy Andy? Had a girlfriend who was a porn star way back when?
