Kate's Law (Do you support it)

Its almost a sure thing that the House will move it to the Senate again (And only 2 Democrats are needed to pass it normally) and without nuclear option …

Kate’s Law

Thank you, Morgenstern.

No. Mandatory minimum sentences are a terrible idea.

If the killer had been an ordinary street criminal, no one would have cared about this woman’s death.
Least of all the Sentient Cheeto.

An Ordinary Street Criminal who was previously deported 5 times ?

Mandatory sentences for serial pedos is a bad idea ?

What problem does mandatory sentencing solve? Is there some reason to believe the current system is especially light on this sort of crime, or is this just an easy way to score political points?

Points like winning the White House and retaining the House & Senate ?

By convincing voters that this is a new and significant danger to America.

In truth, it would be far more effective if businesses that hire illegals were ruthlessly fined and owners jailed, there would be no illegal immigrant problem.

This is a bill about imprisoning illegal immigrants. Where do “serial pedos” come into it?

I’ll bet something about Clinton and the non-existent basement that’s not under a pizza place.

Targeting serial pedos because they happened to be born in another country is a bad idea.

Who would you rather keep in prison; a Mexican who’s crossed the border illegally three times or a rapist who was born in America?

Juan Lopez-Sanchez should be locked up for a long time because he killed Kate Steinle not because he crossed the border illegally.

If it prevents illegal aliens who are criminals from coming back for at least 5 years then why not? It should be recalled that Kate would not have been murdered by this animal had the law been in force. I think it’s rather difficult to argue against that.

And what makes you think it would have stopped him? Murder is illegal regardless of immigration status.

Moved from Elections to Great Debates.

People who repeatedly commit crimes commit more crimes than people who don’t. Mandatory sentences for repeat offenders takes the people who have proven themselves unwilling to reform and renders them physically incapable of committing any further crimes.

Poster made “Blanket Statement” about “Mandatory Sentencing” in general not just Mandatory Sentencing for Illegals .

This may not be a “New” problem but that does not make it a less significant problem because its not new or because its politically incorrect to seek a resolution to it …

How does a prison sentence for illegal aliens even make any sense at all? “You’re not allowed to be in this country, so we’ll force you to stay in this country!”
