Thank you for illustrating what I pointed out in the OP.
“I’m very sorry that I pretended to cut off your head.”
That individual anonymous people with no authority within the liberal community(whatever the hell that consists of) are official representatives of that community just because they offend you?
Do you really want to go that route? If so, then I can show you videos and pictures of people that (according to your loose standards) should make you ashamed you ever called yourself “conservative”.
That, and I quote my OP, “this election cost some liberals their minds”. But please kneejerk all you want.
Meh, I also laughed at other humor where the vocal majority shouted, “Too soon”.
No, thanks-I’ll just stand back and watch you show us how a pro does it.
I think the ‘apology’ was at least partly pre-packaged. You do something totally unacceptable, to get attention, then ‘apologize’ to throw gas on the fire you create in the first place between left and right jib jabbers (‘but she apologized, what’s the big deal!?!’ v ‘the apology is not accepted’ and on and on).
I don’t think she’s a secret Trump supporter mind you, I just doubt political conviction (or ‘moral’ conviction, for anti-Trumpers want to label their politics that way) is at the root of it. It’s publicity seeking and in an ideal world would be recognized by all as such and ignored by all (except the Secret Service investigating to make sure it wasn’t an actual threat).
But it’s far from an ideal world and IMO it is another leg down in the public dialog, where the distinction between ‘comedians’, pundits and politicians has receded in general. An entertainer employed by a major news outlet is not an elected Democrat, true. But in today’s landscape IMO not necessarily further away from an elected Democrat than from unnamed true nobody’s making effigies of past presidents, which were not in general that realistic and gory either.
You’re assuming facts not in evidence, like his ability to be shamed.
This isn’t The BBQ Pit, so I’m willing to assume that
- He can feel shame, and
- He doesn’t have a double standard when it comes to people on his side of the aisle acting the same or worse than the people he condemns on the other side.
More courtsey.
I’m now going to wait for the anti-PC crowd to jump in and get Kathy Griffin her job back.
I don’t know if I can ever watch *Pulp Fiction *again!
Happy, Okra?
I love that in his own tweet Prez Snowflake the Orange says his children are having a hard time with it, especially 11 year old Barron. He doesn’t mention his wife, who is apparently asking for copies, laughing, saying something in Slovenian while making ax motions in pantomime, and seems horny for the first time in 9 years.
I lost all respect for Kathy Griffin when she apologized for her stunt.
Our country gets stupider by the day.
Now, you see, THAT is good dark comedy.
(But are we sure it’s his head she wants to chop?)
I never had much respect for Kathy Griffin to being with, but as an artist, she should have stood by whatever statement she thought she was making.
As to the image - my first thought was “not helpful”. My second thought was that I liked how Kathy didn’t have a speck of blood on her, like this is just the latest bullshit gift from her cat.
That’s the part that really chaps my hide, actually. The only time Trump mentions- hell, even seems to think about- Barron is when he can use him politically. I kinda feel sorry for the kid.
If he really thought that was his dad, I hope to God he never saw any of those naked Trump statues.
I loathe Il Douche with the fiery passion of a thousand suns, but this is waaaay over the line. Joking about the violent, bloody death of the President of the United States is absolutely unacceptable. She has rightly been fired by CNN.
