Threads I subscribe to under the ‘watched’ category shoot me an email for each new post to them, and show a notification on my profile pic. The only way I can see to disable the email is to subscribe to them under the ‘tracked’ heading, but then, it seems that the notifications go, too. Basically, I want the notifications, but not the emails. Is there a ready-made option for that?
Yes there is.
Go to your user page. Select Preferences from the top menu then Emails from the left menu.
The second choice says in effect “Send me an email whenever you’d put a notification on my icon”.
Change that setting to “never” and click [Save Changes]. Done.
