My dad said he can detect gay men by their mouth. He says Ted Haggard has Gay Mouth http://globalgrind.com/source/wendyista.blogspot.com/366525/ted-haggard-exgay-preacher-is-still-gay/
Or should I say :o
I had never heard rumors that Kelly McGillis is a lesbian. I guess I don’t read enough Hollywood gossip.
And now I hear Allison Janney is gay? Jayzuz…I need to get a gaydar tune-up. What the fuck.
While I never stopped and thought about Allison Janney’s sexuality (except during her big scene in 10 Things I Hate About You), it doesn’t sound all that far-fetched to me.
I have never understood how a celebrity being gay was shocking, and it’s probably because of where I grew up, but I remember always knowing who was gay, always. Like…when I barely knew what gay was. I don’t remember ever not knowing that the following people were gay (I’m 51 this year, so I mean I knew about these people 40 years ago)
Richard Chamberlain
Jim Nabors
Rock Hudson
Liberace (that anyone ever even pretended is hilarious)
Paul Lynde
Charles Nelson Reilly
Jodie Foster (but I went to school with her brother, so that was easy)
Kevin Spacey (I don’t think he’s publicly acknowledged it, though)
I can’t remember which other lesbians I knew about, except Kelly of course.
I am much more surprised these days, like Janney. Never heard that, doesn’t surprise me.
There’s only one who surprises me and surprises me so much, that even though my source is almost flawless… I still can’t wrap my head around it ONLY because I can’t believe this person could possibly have kept in under wraps this long. Not least because a lifelong friend of mine was his housekeeper for 10 years before he hit big, and she says my source is wrong…George Clooney.
But I don’t believe it. Or if he is, he never gets laid…or he only gets laid with people he’s known for 40 years or has something to threaten them with.
I also know about one very famous person (less famouse with time) who actually began the process of becoming a woman, but changed his mind for his children’s sake. But he started the hormones and electrolysis, the whole nine. And I know direct from his mouth.
But that waits for him to pass away before I can say, dammit.
My sister’s ex -husband dated Kelly McGillis’ sister. He never said anything about this! I’m Shocked!
He himself did - he once won a big-bucks libel suit against a magazine that made the claim.
We’re all just a bunch of pseudonyms here anyway. You can tell us.
I’ll ask again; how do you know of a little child is “obviously gay”?
Don’t tell me “Well, I just know.” What distinguishes a “gay” 7-year-old from a “straight” one? At what age, pray tell, does it become so “obvious”?
I think it’s tragic that our society makes women feel that they have to wait until 50 to come out as a lesbian, rather than doing it when they’re young and super-hot.
When my cousin was a little girl, one of her friends (who was a boy) would throw tantrums because she got to wear pretty dresses, and he didn’t.
That was pretty gay.
Wait, Liberace was gay?
See, the great thing about women is…very possibly yes.
God I love women.
What’s hilarious is that he brought a libel suit over it and won!
And I need to walk junk-first into a power saw. If being intelligent, funny, female and independent of gender stereotypes is incompatible with being heterosexual, I am not getting laid in this lifetime.
Okay I understand you can’t tell us his name.
But just nod once if it’s Chuck Norris.
Alright, I’ll bite.
This has been my observation when it comes to obviously gay adolescent boys. I think it becomes more apparent in that group, which is to say, more of the “obvious” signs come to light.
The biggest “giveaway” I’ve noticed is that gay boys in that age group tend to have no male friends. They’re generally not interested in the same things boys are at that age (i.e. sports, video games, mischief, talking about girls), and thus, can’t relate to them. So they gravitate towards females.
And, females usually don’t have any problem befriending them because he doesn’t act “weird” around them, like a hormonal pre-teen boy would.
from my perspective, some gay children definitely show signs early.
the kid on “Ugly Betty” was pretty young when that series started, but to me he was obviously gay. Mannerisms, voice tone, etc. just are. He was just himself. And I’ve never heard about his sexuality, nor do I care, but I don’t think he was acting.
As for the list in this thread, the only one that I missed was Porshe Del Rossi. Damn, that’s a lipstick lesbian. Anyone else wish she would be with another hottie instead of the pantsuit queen, Ellen, who just looks so sloppy?
David Odgen Stiers is someone I didn’t know was in the closet. My gaydar apparently works pretty well.
not that it matters. I agree that it would be nice if it wasn’t news. Who cares?
Well, I don’t doubt that teenagers can sometimes be pretty obviously gay, inasmuch as by that age they’re often having sex with other teenagers of the same sex, which is strongly correlated with being gay. And your description does match a few guys I knew in high school, and it was pretty obvious to me they were gay long before they came out (which was harder to do in the 80s than it is now.)
The claim was that small children were obviously gay, which I think clearly does not include adolescents.
Speaking from experience, small children can be obviously gay. Just because I wasn’t having sex doesn’t mean my brothers, cousins and schoolmates weren’t able to pick up on something that was different about me, and my mother in her supportive way, and call me on it doesn’t mean that they couldn’t be, and apparently did turn out to be, right.
Are you saying that it is only by having had sex one can be said to conclusively be gay, regardless of any inherent desires, etc. that simply haven’t been acted upon?
