Havn’et bought it, but caught her performance on Mad TV last week. Sounds like warmed over Hole if you ask me. Not awful, but not exactly great, either.
I caught some of Kelly’s song “Shut Up”. Her voice wasn’t great (but Dylan sounds like a 98 year old man who lost his false teeth trying to gargle and Dylan got big) but the attitude was cool. It sounded very punk which I can go for. I did not think this was going to be the best recording ever. At the same time I was wondering about other songs on the CD.
BTW, I think Kelly is a healthy sexy woman. She is the normal body type for most women. She is also her own person. If I was a lot younger I’d love to date her.

I saw her on leno (and somewhere else), the songs i heard were nothing special (not great, not horrible), I think it was your basic lamo pop music (dressed up as “alternative” or “punk”), if your into that kind of stuff, go for it.

I heard a few songs off it and liked it. Reminds me of early 80’s Ramones-influenced female bands like the Waitresses and the Runaways – back when singing talent and getting the chords right took a backseat to attitude and volume.
When I saw this threat topic, I thought it was going to be a petition or something to get Kelly Osbourne to shut up. Pity it isn’t, really…I didn’t think her Madonna cover was any good, seemed a little like bottled rebellion to me.
I’ll keep an ear out for this new single with the confusing name.
I like Bernie Taupin’s take on covers. They aren’t supposed to be reproductions. They’re supposed to be reinterpretations.
Ditto Gerome.
The alternative radio station here had an interview with Kelly Osbourne, and then they played her new song. Halfway through, the DJ turned it off and started talking about how much it sucked. It was pretty funny, especially because the song was pretty bad. The tune was ok, and Kelly can sing fine, but they lyrics…not good.
"Shut up!
Don’t want to hear your voice.
Shut up!
I’m sick of all the noise.
There’s nothing you can say to me,
So get away from me.
Shut up!
Blah Blah, Blah Blah, Blah Blah, Blah Blah.
That’s what,
It sounds like you said to me"
Think Avril Levigne, only weirder.
Has anyone else recently done an amped up cover of Papa Don’t Preach? Because, if not, the song I heard at my local CD supermarket sounded Great! Not at all like I imagined it would based on the usual novelty/TV star angle. I haven’t heard anything else by her, but if it has that same energy and fun spirit, then I might just have to wait til it hits the cutout bins and buy it.
Ditto to what Mirror Image egamI rorriM said. The only American pop radio I get here in Tokyo is what they play at my gym, and this song has been a recent addition. The production is very Pink/Avril Lavigne (read: a bit overwrought and boring), but I guess the attitude was okay. The “blah blah blah” part was actually kind of funny the first time I heard it.
The song ought to end with the first full stop, though.
Dammit. I thought what Gerome and KidCharlemagne thought too, and I furthermore was overjoyed at the prospect of agreeing for the first time with sleestak.
Mmmmmmm!

I’ve never seen THE OSBOURNES (No cable), but I saw the family on Leno the other night. Kelly got bored and curled up on the couch and went to sleep. I think that’s a network talk show first!
