Kelly Ripa of "Regis & Kelly" Fame. Good Lord, Is She an Airhead!

I’m pretty sure she’s not a total muffinhead. She is quite the irritating spaz on the show, though. I keep thinking “These co-hosts…how can Regis stand it?” Then again, Regis is quite the spaz too, so how does he stand himself? The whole Regis and Kelly phenomenon just confuses the hell out of me. My wife likes to watch, but I JUST CAN’T STAND IT! CAN YOU STAND IT? I MEAN, COME ON! THIS STUFF IS COMPLETELY NUTSO, YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN? DO YOU? DO YOU? IT’S LIKE, I DUNNO! I JUST CAN’T GET OVER IT!

Her latest contract was for $27 million plus profit sharing.

Blonde, built, and rich as Croesus. Good for her.

I think she and Regis are better suited to late night informercials pawning off miracle cookware. But then again, I’m not their target audience for either.

The series of “Only Bangcock” of commercials with Kelly and Ben Affleck were some of the funniest skits I’ve ever seen on SNL, so I’d say she’s okay in my book.

I’ve seen her on Letterman a few times, and she impressed me every time. She’s actually a quick wit, with a fine comedic sense.

Then I saw her on SNL, and she was one of the better guest hosts they had. Not only is she attractive and engaging, but she can really act. The cocaine shampoo thing was hysterical, and part of the reason was the great job she did acting in it.

I think she’d make a better comedienne than most of the ‘Friends’ women. Someone should put her in a movie.

She looks like she should be a dumb blonde. She certainly can have vacant expressions on her face, but I think it’s a put on, and she does it because it makes her look cute and disarming. Really, she seems to be just as smart as any television host, which isn’t saying much, and probably is much more canny than most of them.

Well, if she’s as good as Sam Stone says (and I don’t doubt him on this), why in the hell does she behave like such an annoying, spastic ditz on the Regis & Kelly show?

I agree that she’s extremely hot, and I could easily, easily be swayed toward total ga-ga lust for somebody that cute who also happened to be so reportedly charming and bright. But on her show, she isn’t charming and bright. She behaves like a borderline retard on meth. I just don’t get it.

I like Kelly, but then again, I’ve been watching her since she wore that hilarious black-haired wig as a teenager on AMC. I grew up watching her interviewed, and she’s no airhead.

Her personality is a bit of a put-on. It gets the laughs from the audience. Whatever works.

I also adore her compared to Kathy Lee - Kelly tells anecdotes about her kids that are a little more human and real. Not “Oh, my children are perfect angels!”, she’s more like, “My kids are brats! They’re crazy! I love them, but will you take them, please?” You know, like a parent. And I love when her husband co-hosts with her - I say Regis should go, Mark Consuelos should come in! It’s obvious that they adore each other, but yet all they do is snipe each other, often quite cleverly. Fun.

I’m not her number one fan, but I’ve got no real beef with her. Also, though it sounds contrary to what I just posted, I rarely watch Regis and Kelly. My mother, however, is a huge fan, so when I lived at home… it was either that, Oprah, Dr. Phil, or Sylvia Browne if she was on Montel. Ugh. I’ll take Kelly over *all * of that!

But apparently, I am. I grew up watching her* in interviews*.

I saw her for maybe the third time–everytime waiting in a lounge at an airport. If her airhead persona is an imitation, give her an(other) Emmy.

Judging from the linked photo above, yes, I’d say she has some body-image issues going on. That upper body is scary.

The best Kelly Ripa pic in the world:

Like buffing her floors, installing her carpeting, asnd dechromings some trailer hitches.

I vaguely remember that, with one image of her holding a large stained knife and saying “There’s blood all over the place, Reg,” in this goofy voice that stands out and still cracks me right up.

As someone who grew up in the San Fernando Valley, Ms. Ripa is definitely NOT a Valley Girl.

She was born and raised in New Jersey.

She was just dreamily remembering what it took to pry Kathie Lee out of the studio.

And don’t forget the spot she did on Family Guy.
“Just a minute, Rege. I need to put my face on.”

I said the same about Rachel Ray. It’s a figure of speech, Bob.

I haven’t seen much of Kelly, but it would take some serious doing to be more annoying than Kathie Lee. Good GOD, that woman was a nightmare.

I could only wish that there were women like Rachael Ray where I grew up.

The only thing worse than her talking about her Stepford Kids was when she’d refer to having hot monkey sex with her wrinkly husband.
