Even if he were English, which as the others mentioned, he is not, what would it matter? Hugh Jackman is an Australian, Anna Paquin is from New Zealand, and Famke Janssen is Dutch. And I doubt Halle Berry has ever lived in any part of Africa.

I agree that Grammer will be able to totally nail the personality of the Beast. However, I might have a problem with him being twenty-some years older than his classmates, Jean and Scott.
Then again, they made Iceman the wrong age and it all worked out, so I guess I’m alright with that.
Well he’s probably going to be behind a ton of make up so the age thing probably won’t be a problem.
I just worry that I’m going to keep thinking it’s Frasier every time he talks.
I had that problem watching The Emporer’s New Groove with John Goodman and David Spade doing cartoon voices. They were too recognizable.
X-men? Crap. Here I was all excited thinking another remake of Dune was in the works with Mr. Grammer as Beast Rabban. That is something for which I’d camp out to buy opening night tickets.

Well, he WAS involved with Psylocke for a while, and Betsy is old-school blueblood British (and Captain Britain’s sister (and, for a while, Captain Britain herself!)).
I squeed out loud when I read this at the library (and got some funny looks…) Kelsey Grammar is brilliant for this role, excellent casting choice!
