Kerry concedes the election to Bush as report by Fox News. Kerry called Bush and conceded the race to the better man. Finally! Bush had nearly 4 million votes, the most ever. Woo Hoo.

I would like to see a cite where Kerry calls Bush “the better man.” “The guy who got the most votes?” yeah, but better? Seems unlikely.

Not only am I really depressed, but I got sick from working outside the polls (cold, rain, wind) in Wisconsin yesterday for Kerry. Apparently no good deed goes unpunished.

As I said in the Georgia thread, Bush has a tough row to hoe.
He’ll have to try to get us out of Iraq with a modicum of dignity intact. He’ll have to try to close the budget deficit and get the economy back on solid footing. He faces looming Social Security, Medicare and health care crises. And of course, we still have terrorists who wish to cause us catastrophic harm.
As an American first and a Democrat second, I wish him the best of luck on all fronts.

The Black Death was caused by flea-infested rodents. While the death and suffering was lamentable, it was no more a preventable tragedy than Krakatoa.
The US has elected (not re-elected) a man who is going to start more wars, curtail our civil liberties, and drop any pretense of fiscal responsibility. When the Iraq fiasco goes even worse, when the draft is instated, when Patriot Act II rears its Hitleresque head, when Haliburton trucks back up to Fort Knox, and when your job is outsourced you will change your mind.

Help me understand this. Because currently I show a number of states not yet given to one candidate or the other. Iowa isn’t even Red yet, and then there’s absentees, etc. in states that were just barely won by Bush. I don’t get it. The concession seems premature…and bitterly disappointing. I would like to have seen Kerry take this one to the death. Maybe he *is *a puss.
