I think maybe The Flying Dutchman is complaining because Kerry endorsed Edwards’s opponent, as though the default assumption was that he was expected to endorse his former running mate, or else no one at all (ETA: at least until Edwards was out of the race).

You need to keep up with current events. Kerry did make an endorsement, but not for Edwards.
Even if I don’t keep up with current events, I’m keeping up with the thread. I’m interested in having TFD share the actual reasoning behind his belief that Kerry shouldn’t have done so.
