Kettlebell Workouts

I recently purchased a pair of 16kg kettlebells. They came with a dvd that had a few basic exercises on it. Anybody here able to tell me more or point me in the direction of more? A little cursory searching has mostly turned up hits from a Russian fellow’s website where he sells books and videos.

Google it in two words, singular, and add “workout”, viz. and to wit, “kettle bell workout”.

The Russian guy is Pavel Tsatsouline, right? He’s a pretty well-respected strength coach. His workouts are solid, but don’t buy into his notion that there’s something magical about kettlebells. They’re just weights.

Yeah, Pavel is the fellow. He does seem to hold a near religious belief in their efficacy. Thanks for the help, all.

Crossfit also has quite a bit of stuff on kettlebells. You can browse the site or do a search using “kettlebell” as the search term. PDFs on form and exercises, along with theory on when/how to use them. They’re a bit more challenging to handle than dumbbells and are better adapted for swinging movements (no surprise since swings are pretty much the main exercise) but like ultrafilter said, they’re not magic. You will probably tear up your hands a bit and whack yourself in the forearm a few times when you’re getting used to them. Have fun though!
