keystroke interrogation software

I have an older piece of equipment that has a control unit with a membrane keyboard that is failing. The PC it is attached to has a standard keyboard interface. I can use another keyboard for commands except for some special commands (RUN, STOP, ABORT). Is there some software that I can run that will let me find what the keystrokes (hotkeys) for these commands?
