Khomeini and Animal Sex

Like people would never make up stories about figurehead or celebrities they dislike. Or spread urban legends about them.

Personnally I see no reason to believe them. And usually, when in doubt, the burden of proof lie on the person making the assertion.

If I attribute the quotes to, say, G.W. Bush and hold for them to be true because I dislike the guy, is it up to you to prove that he never uttered them?

This is a bunch of Shiite!

(Couldn’t resist)

  1. Abulation is required before worship is Islam, partial, hands, face, hair and feet, after the toilet and full bath after sex.

  2. Only certain meat is allowed, similar to kosher rules.

  3. Khomeini’s job is to clarify rules for the above, and other, rules. Since, according to Lynes’ Law of Laws: No law, rule or regulation is adequate to cover all situations therefore another law must be passed, Khomenini’s job is vast.

Consider Khomeini’s writings as a confessional SOP. Imagine a Catholic priest having written instructions for anyone coming into confession. Sinner - “Forgive me father for I have sinned. I had sex with a fish.” Priest flipping pages - “Was this on a Friday?” Khomeini’s instructions were religious legal instructions for sinner’s reconciliation with God and God’s commanments according to the Koran and hadith.

Did I say that? There’s no need to try to put words in my mouth.

  1. It’s about as intelligent to disbelieve everything as it is to believe everything. Reminds me of a holocaust denier (without comparison otherwise!) I was having a little argument with sometime back, after I showed some cites from nizkor.org his response was “they’re lying”. I think, when an, at lest somewhat creditable, cite is brought up a good deal of the burden of proof is placed on the one disbelieving them. Do you have any reason to disbelieve the cites I showed, or do you just? On the other hand if you insist on absolute proof, you’re never going to get it. What Floter might have been lying, he might be part of the great Zionist conspiracy. Or the book he was citing might be lying without Floater knowing it, or the author might have misunderstood Khomeini. Etc. Etc.

  2. Yeah Khomeini is a despicable individual with a disgusting ideologue - according to me (among others), and I’d gladly repeat that if you want. And if a man is shown to have committed murder, I’m more likely to believe allegations he may also have been involved in violent attack. And if a man thought a girl should have her first menstruation in her husband’s home, I’m more inclined to believe he didn’t have too strong beliefs in paedophilia.

Good pun!

But I’m not sure I understand your points.

It appears (at least according to the book I was reading, and the above quotes - now apparently confirmed by someone who claims to have read his book) that “God’s commandments” as interpreted by Khomeini are, to our eyes at least, amazingly lenient towards men who commit what we would consider to be sexual perversions and crimes - for example, rape of infants and animals.

This I think is the source of the outrage. It appears to condone these activities.

If for example someone went to a Catholic priest and said “I just analy violated a baby”, and the priest flipped through his book and asked “did you vaginally penetrate her?” and he says “no”, so the priest says “in that case, you don’t have to pay for her upkeep - but you can’t marry her sister” – I rather think people would have some words to say about it …

i know there was a huge backlash when a judge lessened a sentence on a father who raped his daughter. his reasoning was the little girl was just anal raped and was still a virgin. snorts and snuffles, did that judge leave town real fast! the story went international and all heck broke out.

I tracked down one of these quotes to a fairly reliable source. (It even includes the original Farsi.) It was not quite as advertised. It seems the remark regarding sex with young girls was made in the context of marriage. I don’t know about the thing with the camels, though.

BTW, we need to see more things like “excrement-eating camel” in the pit. “Asshat” is just so done.

How can a man be married to a girl younger than nine?

The book in question was released in Swedish in 1980 (Filosofiska, politiska, religiösa och sociala principer, ISBN 91-7410-119-6) and is abridged version of a translation from Farsi into French (Principes politiques, philosophiques, sociaux et religieux / Ayatollah Khomeiny ; textes choisis et traduits du persan par Jean-Marie Xavière, ISBN 2-86297-029-8). There should be an English edition or two as well if I were eager enough to locate it. The main entry for the book is Khomeini, Ruhollah, which means that its his wording. As I stated I recognise Rune’s quotes and librarians are not known for deliberately lying about books.

Is everyone satisfied now?

Well, I am at least.

Unless there is some additional evidence, I now feel that I have enought to go on, and tell my Persian friend. The burden of proof has shifted to demonstrate that the quotes in question do not exist/are misunderstood.

Boy, was that Khomeini a twister. Yech.

If that were the case then I’m pretty sure the Khomeini book would say stoning. But were weren’t talking about that.

We were talking about sex and food on the hoof.

Not having read the Khomeini text in question, I would nonetheless suggest that the authenticity is HIGHLY dubious. It goes so far against the grain of either reformist or even highly tolerant Islam as to be absurd.

It also goes against basic humanity - there is no way an adult male can sodomise a baby without most probably killing it, certainly permanently damaging it forever.

That these quotes are part of a smear campaign seems most likely.

For an authentic site where a mullah gives advice on anal sex/masturbation, etc try Sistani.org. But bear in mind that these mullahs are ALWAYS contradicting each other - I read another site recently where a mullah said all anal sex was haram (forbidden) even between consenting man and wife.

I mean that as “highly conservative” - not tolerant.

That was exactly my initial impression as well - that it was a smear.

However, various people claim to have actually read the quotes in question, which seems to make it less likely … I have swung the other way, to thinking that maybe it is true.

Oh, how I would like to get the true straight dope on this! It is probably impossible unless we have a Farsi scholar around …
