Kick that topic like an extra point!

Really, this message is just for Tuba and the other mods-nothing really for discussion.

Guys, I was wondering if there was anyway for you to post a link to the new url of a moved topic? It’s not been a problem for me as of yet, but there have been some instances where someone’s post has been moved to another forum, and they seem to believe it’s been closed. Most were new people who didn’t seem to know the site. Still, there are some of us who find the locked thread first and would like to respond to it in the new forum; it’d be a lot easier for us if we could just click on the link and go directly to the new thread.

Is it possible to do this? Do the mods of both forums have to be online at the time the thread is moved to accomplish this? Can it be done by the mod moving the thread, or does the lock feature prevent them from posting anything after the move?

“What do you look for in a woman you date?”
“Well, I know everyone always says sense of humor,
but I’d really have to go with breast size.”

Most of the time the moderators will tell you when they move a thread; the last post will say “moving to whateverforumitgoesto.” So you just jump over to the new forum and there it is. (Well, there it should be. There it usually is.)

The board software is not perfect and we sometimes have these glitches, but they are rare.

The name of the thread does not change upon moving, so it should not be problem to hop over and find it again in its new home.

To open the old thread back up, place a hyperlink in it to the new one, and close it up again is a big hassle. More hassle than it’s worth.
