Forgive me if this has already been posted, i did a search and couldnt find anything on it…
but did bill kill o-rens father during the anime sequence in the movie?
after seeing it a few times i think its a definate possibility…but of course i could be way off…
I’ve always thought so. He looked like Bill, and he had the rings and the similar sword. But the credits listed that character as “Pretty Riki.”
It’s Bill as far as I’m concerned.
Umm didn’t O-Ren kill the guy who killed her father?
And if you mean one of the other lackies in the room I didn’t think any of them resembled Bill.
boss matsumoto killed her mother…but before that her father killed a couple of lackeys, then comes the sword whose handle is quite like bills, also the rings on his hand look familiar…

Admittedly, I didn’t catch this until I heard it pointed out by someone else (being a fan of anime, I always just thought the guy looked like your average villian). But then I actually got a screenshot and took a good look. It’s him.
Matsumoto, by the way, only killed Oren’s mother, he was pretty much sitting in a chair laughing before that.
Seems a touch convuluted and unnecessary, and no further detail regarding O-Ren was coughed up during Volume 2, so you may as well file this under “Deckard was a replicant and other pointless plot twists.”
Case closed.
Also: Pretty Riki was Asian.
Also: He was WAY to young to be Bill. The murder of O-ren’s father predates the Bride’s wedding by only sixteen years. Even if we are to believe that Bill is not quite as old as David Carradine, he still would have been pushing 50 at the time. I wouldn’t accept Bill as anyone’s lackey once he was that age. He’d have already been in business for himself.
I suspect the guy was another fallen Hanzo student.
