kill off colonel o'neill

I was watching the coming attractions for Stargate, and it looks like they are going to kill off Colonel O’Neill for the 150th episode. anyone have any info on this?

SPOILERS AHEAD SPOILERS AHEAD

Well, they’re being very tight-lipped about it, but I frequent a message board that has a lot of British Stargate fans. The UK is a few weeks ahead of the US when it comes to Stargate. They’ve already seen “Ressurection,” the episode that was written by Michael Shanks (Daniel) and directed by Amanda Tapping (Sam). Anyway, to my spoiler, which I will put in a box. Or I actually will make two spoiler boxes.

The first is regarding whether or not Col. O’Neill actually is killed:

No. He is not killed. He is wounded but is fine.

Now, is anyone killed? And if so, who?

Yes. The doctor, Janet Frasier, is killed.

My work is done here.

Now, I want to ammend my previous post and tell you that if you don’t read the spoilers, don’t assume that anyone is killed, and don’t assume that it is not going to be O’Neill, or that it is O’Neill. Was that vague enough?

Now, I have some more spoilers about next season. Read at your own risk:
O’Neill will be in next season. He will be made a General and will not have as much screen time. I think that Gen. Hammond (the bald guy) is leaving the show. (Sounds like his choice.)

Richard Dean Anderson has a young kid and wants to have a lighter schedule so he can spend more time with his kid. That’s also why we haven’t seen him as much in this season (Season 7) too.

Since O’Neill will now be General, the SG team will now be a three-person team: Teal’c, Daniel and Sam. Sam will be the lead officer.

In a recent interview, Christopher Judge (Teal’c) hinted that next season there will be a marriage and a death. But he won’t say who or how or why or anything.

O’Neill (and Daniel, I think) will also guest star in the new Stargate series pilot, which starts next season: Stargate Atlantis. Read more about Atlantis (and more Stargate spoilers) at gateworld.net.
Oh, good. I never really liked

her

anyway.

The hypothetical

her

that is. We are still not admitting that anyone actually dies. And if someone does die, it might be Col. O’Neill. Or not.

But, getting back to:
her (Janet), I can’t say she was my favorite character, but I liked her well enough. I’m not going to be crying buckets of tears at her demise, though.

I think I read somewhere that the actress wanted to move on, so that would explain why they’re bumping her off. Word has it that the episode where she dies is a pretty good episode, and they do d-r-a-g out revealing who dies. If you didn’t know any better, you’d think it was O’Neill, because they make it look like he was injured pretty bad.

Should be an interesting episode.
Just wanted to let ya’ll know, that you’re absolutly killing me here with these spoilers…sigh

Just thought I’d bump this thread up, since the episode in question airs in a few hours . . .

All will be revealed to those of you who avoided the spoiler boxes!

Well I always liked her.And even knowing what was coming, I still shed a tear.

True, it was a very emotional episode, on many levels. I won’t miss

her all that much, but on the other hand, she was a nice character so that’s kind of a bummer.

I suppose that I’m not all that broken up about her is because I haven’t seen all the seasons of SG-1 yet. (I’m inching through the DVD episodes gradually.) Maybe after seeing all of them I’ll have a more complete understanding of her character.

It was a good episode. I’m kinda ticked off, tho, because the advertisements made it look like they were killing off Colonel O’Neil, and in fact it was just that doctor lady. Not that I had anything against her, but she was only a secondary character. I don’t think that this is “a loss that will change SG-1 forever,” or whatever the ads said.

Can anyone give me a rundown of what the heck was going on and why? I’ve missed most of the season so far.

Anyone who watched this episode, my tivo cut off JUST as the reporter said “first question” in his interview with O’Neill.
Did he ask any questions or was that the end of the episode?

No, that was pretty much the end. I think the point had been made. All through the two parter, O’Neill had been refusing to sit down for an interview for this “weasel” reporter. Now that the reporter had proven himself to be a stand-up guy, even Col. “photograph the back of my ass” O’Neill was willing to soberly sit down for an interview. (At Gen. Hammond’s request, I am sure.) Pretty nice ending.

Asterion, I don’t know if I could coherently get you up to speed on what’s been going on this season. A good bet would be for you to go over to www.gateworld.net and check out their episode guide. Just read all the synopsis for Season 7 and you should be all set.

I was glad that they at least mentioned Cassie. That would have been a dreadful oversight.
