The chastisement at the end is pretty relevant to me. I’m normally pretty skeptical and don’t believe news stories without some degree of confirmation by other independent news sources. But when it comes to North Korea, no matter how crazy the story, I tend to believe it. Not a good habit, but then, that’s not an ordinary country either.

The fact that the ‘Execution by dog’ story first appeared in a Chinese paper (no matter how disreputable) would suggest that China is losing patience with her noisy neighbour.
North Korea has reportedly put to death all direct relatives of the uncle of leader Kim Jong-Un, including young children.
Obviously if you don’t put the young children to death, they will grow up and might seek revenge.
The fact it was North Korea is why people took this at face value. Any other country: too cray cray to believe.

How do guys like Kim get away with crap like this? Maybe he’s a sociopath, but everyone around him can’t be (can they?). I’d think that eventually there would be a coup againt Kim, just because his lackies are sick & tired of his bullshit.
Of course, nobody ever staged a coup against Stalin, and it required foreign intervention to remove the likes of Hitler and Saddam Hussein, so apparently it is quite possible to get away with stuff like this… :eek:
The problems with a coup, or even an assassination are that you need more than one person and the penalty to your family if you do either is extreme. You can’t trust anyone, and even if you kill the clown, your family dies.
Better make sure they killed all the pets too, even the kittens.
Otherwise they’ll turn into ninjas.
