Kinder Joy Eggs: US version

I picked up a US version Kinder Joy egg today. Unlike the original Kinder Surprise Eggs, this egg is in 2 sealed halves, one containing the toy and one containing some sickly sweet chocolately goo, some white goo and 2 little crispy balls. I did not enjoy that side. The other side contains the toy, which I did enjoy.

I would rather see the “treat” side contain a couple of wrapped candies, like Hershey’s kisses or similar.

Anyone else have opinions on this?

I picked one up the other day. The goo was as disgusting as something called “goo” might be and the toy sucked. It was 3 pieces of plastic that snapped together to make a bunny emerging from an egg. Kinder toys used to be cool random things, like they were Cracker Jack toys ramped up a bit, not just seasonal pablum.

I give a huge thumbs down to this incarnation of Kinder eggs.

They’re not *for *you. They’re for kids. It even says so in the name. IME, “sweet goo” is right on spec for kids.

These are the kind we mostly get too, and my kids love them, even when the toys are pants.

Toy pants? Or pants for toys?

(I do know what you mean but the images amused me.)

You guys get goo? I figured it would be an empty egg or chunks of the chocolate…

I got a couple on sale the other day.
Not impressed.

There is at least one more brand I have purchased at Walmart, they are in the checkout line. It does have a chocolate egg. It’s been awhile so I forget how they got around the “hazard”.
