Kindom of Loathing

What is the clan for the boards? I’m to the point where I don’t want to play KOL any longer, and I want to join the clan to give them all my loot. It will just be lost after month of no playing so I’d like the clan to have the stuff.

It’s been a LOOOONG time since I played, but it’s Friends of Cecil, IIRC.

If you have (or have ever had in your possession during any rollover) any Mr. Store items or certain other special loot, your account will never be deleted. Just so you know.

do y’all like the game? I met some of the developers at Dragon*Con this year and meant to sign up and try it - but I haven’t yet . . .

The game play is very repetitive. The jokes are pretty funny, though you usually (as of a couple years ago when I played) have to stay in an area long enough to level up that the jokes wear pretty thin by the end.

The gameplay is no longer repetitive from what I’ve seen, although I don’t really play anymore, either.

If you liked the developers, it’s pretty likely (to varying degrees depending upon who you met) you’ll like the game.

Thanks I’ll look up the clan. I’m sick of the game and maybe in a couple years I’ll play it again. I don’t know, but it’s time to move on from the game. It’s become a chore and not a game.

Well, if you’re a high level we can use you next week! (trying to plan a speed run in Hobopolis)
And if it’s totally a chore you might look into KOL mafia if you haven’t already. Eases some of the tedium.

Look up KOL Mafia. It’s a nifty little program that automates a lot of the repetitive stuff so you can focus more on the parts you really enjoy. It’ll even do the Hippie/Frat Boy battle for you so that you get the Wossname (or whatever it’s called). It’ll also streamline cooking/cocktailcrafting and has a Mall interface to expedite selling of crap. (My coworkers and I all play together when it’s slow at work.)

I like it better than WoW (I cancelled my subscription yesterday for that). Anyways, thanks for the rec on Mafia. I’m aiming to be a super-high Disco Bandit for a bit before I ascend again.

How high a level should I be for Hobopolis?

At least 15, though higher levels make it easier and easier.
