Well, my wife and I have seen the movie a couple times and we have a few questions. Most come down to the fact that the plot is just not thought out enough for a published screenplay.
However, my wife was wondering one thing towards the end of the movie.
Does Indy mistranslate what Oxley is saying when the “interdimensional beings are talking”? Oxley is speaking Mayan. Indy translates it to Spalko, saying, “He is grateful. He wants to…give us a gift. A great big gift.”
Then he says they need to get out of there.
Was he just telling her “a gift” when it was actually talking about going home(destroying the temple and everything in it)?
