King's Dominion anyone?

Roller Coaster season is finally upon us!! :smiley: The next 2 weeks mark my own personal new year for that and my group or Roller Coaster Freak Friends. Seeing as this board has become a rather large extension to that group of friends (and many of you are odd enough that you just may fit in) I’m wondering if anyone would be up to starting the season with me through a little trip to Paramount King’s Dominion in Doswell, VA. The way my friends and I usually do these trips is
1)Leave early Saturday morning
2)Get to the Park before or near official opening time
3)Spend the night at a nearby campground.

The campground would be optional but it usually ends up being orders of magnitude less than a hotel.

So how about it…anyone up for a day of coaster riding and general good fun?

IIRC the last time I was there the campsite ran about $10-$12 per person and I think a ticket is still around $55…a little steep on the ticket side of things but for those of you who have never been there its one of the best East Coast parks I’ve ever been to. Dates are pretty flexible so if there’s interest we can work it out for whatver’s best for all, or at least the majority, of those interested.

With a little advance notice, I’d definitely be willing to go for a day. I live thirty minutes away, so transportation and lodging isn’t an issue for me. I’ve been desperate to try the Hypersonic, and I’m eager to go on the Drop Zone this year, but my family and friends all seem to prefer Busch Gardens and the SO won’t ride anything fast.
