Just got back from a trip to Japan. Fell in love with Kirin’s Ichiban Beer. [Granted, my experience with it was solely on the flight over, so the can was completely in English.]
Trying to find Kirin or even Ebisu* brand beer in Atlanta is proving to be harder than I thought.
Kroger, Publix, and one Fresh Market location did not have it.
Sapporo, the owners of Ebisu, has its own beer and it is found easily enough. It’s not the same.
It was easy enough to find in Tampa. Publix, Sweetbay, ect. carried it. I suggest you try a local liqour store that’s small enough to ask the manager. Or try Total Wine, if you have one in your neck of the woods. They have everything.
Thanks. There is a package store within walking distance. I was actually thinking about popping in today and asking. [Had more pressing issues though.]
Found Ichiban in Bottles* at Giant Package located in Toco Hills [Lavista - North Druid Hills].
9 bucks for a 6 pack. Granted, it’s imported, but that was more than I figured. [Then again, I’m more used to Steel Reserve and Miller Lite]
Apparently Bottles are better? Shows you how much I know about Beer

Also popped in on the independent book store [Tall Tales]. It’s been years [High school age] since I’ve been over there. Totally forgot how Liberal they were. At the register, they had a list of “banned” books. I asked them if they sold them all. – They said “Of course”.
FWIW : I found 24 ounce tall boy cans of Kirin Ichiban Today in Sugar Hill [Buford] GA. A new Kroger store opened there, and Japanese Beer complimented the sushi counter.
The beer is usually called “Yebisu” but it is pronounced “Ebisu.” The Japanese character “ye” no longer exists. All words that contained it got changed to “ye.” You will still see it in historic references, beers who have an established name, and some people’s names, particularly Japanese-American families (Canadians etc.) who emigrated before the language reform in 1946.
