Did anyone ever get what happens to Atris at the end? The entire storyline just kinda peters out. I think at one point, Atris might have been intended to join the party, but I’m not sure.
As far as I saw, Atris sorta went Dark-Side, but not very. Who knows why she salvaged a bunch of Dark Side artifacts anyhow. But the Exile doesn’t have to kill her (I didn’t), and she’s just left there. She’s not really evil, and it seems that the rather meager (read: nonexistant) harm she’s done is pretty forgivable. In fact, she doesn’t even seem inclined to march forth and rule everything like the Sith do. Given that many more people have gone way farther down the path of the Dark Side (with Kreia’s assistance in almost every case in KoTOR1/2), I felt rather more that she deserved pity rather than judgement. Then again, I tend to have a soft heart, so…
There was a lot of content that was cut out of KOTOR 2 before release. Lucasarts pressured the developer into a holiday release in 2004 and the game wasn’t really finished at the time.
A quick google search turned up this article
that details a lot of the changes and cuts that were made across the entire game. A lot of small things, but some very large ones to. I know at least one planet was cut out entirely. I haven’t looked at the list too closely, but there’s probably some stuff pertaining to Atris in there.
Actually, I did find some more myself… by looking on Wookiepedia. :smack: That was kinda obvious, though I dedn’t recall the site existed till now. It has some info about that yep, she was going to be a late-game party member, and could go light or dark.
Intrguingly, I am wanting to play the rstoration project, but it’s been in development limbo for months now. Since it’s basically finished but not yet available, it’s not clear what’s gong on.
Probably not. They did a truly horrible job of removing the additional content from KOTOR 2. There are doors that appear to be functional but can never be opened, 20-click dialogue options that don’t go anywhere at all, and so on. I’ve tried a beta version of the restoration project and it looks like they hardly got any of it working.
Hrm, thanks. Would’ve been a bitch to shell out cash for the computer version only to find out that it wasn’t really worth it. I appreciate the heads up.
