Note: This is not the same as Team Giza’s one, if you are wondering.
Just ready for open-beta is the cut content mod for Knights of the Old Republic 2. It puts in back many areas (the factory, enclave etc.), story content (the different endings, character interactions) and other cut content.
On a relevant note, Team Gizka is also in the final beta, except that they’ve been in final beta for well over a year now. I’ve basically given up, and since they won’t officially release theirs, beta or no, I’d have to reccomend the OP’s link by default. Apparently Team Gizka decided it had to be perfect and then, not unsurprisingly, got bored and wandered off.
Actually, I think there’s only one dude left owrking on it, and he’s in the “Of course it’s still being worked. Why no, I haven’t actually done anything related to it in the last six months” phase.
I too would like to chime in about Team Gizka. They always struck me as egotistical jerks who have pretty much given up but don’t have the decency to just say it’s canceled.
Has anyone tried the link? I have too many games on my plate right now to bother.
So where are the modders getting the content from? Was it left on the disc but just dropped from the game, or did the company just release it to let people play with it?
Yes there was massive content left on the disk. It had tons of extra scenes leading up to the ending. The ending itself was much deeper and more meaningful. Even voice files and dialog trees for sub quests and scenes that were compressed or moved. The content left on the disk though is extremely variable. Like an assassin droid factory was nearly complete on the other side a droid world was cut early so there’s only tiny fragments of it.
Team Gizka won quite a bit of fame claiming they were restoring almost all of the cut content. They even received letters from the designers of the game praising them for their efforts but they haven’t really produced anything but one buggy closed beta of their work.
I see you have replied but my post kinda answers your questions anyway.
I am still at the beginning areas, and so far I didn’t catch what is missed. Still trying to get off that darned mining facility. The game has a problem with dual core processors though. Still trying to find a solve.
