I think it’s because it comes off as a barely restricted violent rant - if it was well written, or showed any sign of awareness of how unhinged it sounded, or if there was ANY followup, then I think a lot more 'Dopers would be be supportive rather than dismissive. But the poster also uses language, that even if vaguely tolerated in the Pit (although some of it is extremely borderline) that just wipes out sympathy - see the epithet they used about Republicans.
And that’s leaving out entirely the thread they spat out just about 2 weeks after this one which got shut down as both as a call to action AND for using similarly verboten insults that I would have winced at two decades ago, much less now.

For the record though, I understand the OP feels that the materials in question help them with their attitude and drinking. IMHO I would suggest that these posts (although the poster is balanced enough to put them in the Pit at least!) indicate that they perhaps should seek some additional help as they both speak to a great deal of rage that is still bubbling over. Of course, they may just be a lot of us who let the vitriol spill online (and again, they’re clear enough to put it in the Pit) as a safety valve, at which point, it’s a solid coping mechanism rather than vent IRL.
