Kroger Supermarkets and paying by fingerprint

Kroger Supermarkets are testing out a Biometric imaging system to handle payments in a pilot program in stores near Texas A&M.

What do you think? Boon to mankind? Sign of the Apocolypse?

My Mom just told me that she now has to use a biometric scanner to log on to her computer at work. It’s probably a boon to mankind, but I still find it creepy.

I wouldn’t mind doing it at the Bank or the supermarket.

I hope it’s use is limited to things that absolutely must have their use governed to ensure privacy.

I’ll be interested to see if it’s actually as efficient a system as they might hope. I don’t view the advent of technology as being particularly apocalyptic.
