My family was visiting a friend’s place recently, and he showed us a flintlock pistol he had aquired. There seems to be no identifying marks on it other than the name “L. Kunkle” inscribed in a small gold colored plate on the side of the stock, and a small “13” printed on the base of the barrel. Also the ramrod seems to either be stuck, or was never made to be taken out. I tried google, but that didn’t seem to turn up anything useful. I’d like some more information on this firearm.
Hi Mr. Urt
While I couldn’t track down much on the name, short of a bunch of burial records for PA, I did find this and this on the flintlock. Seemed to be a lot of good info.

The best idea I can come up with is that the gun is a kit made replica, and whoever made it had his name engraved on the plate on the side. That would also explain why the ramrod doesn’t seem to want to come out, as it may never have been designed for firing. Too bad I don’t have a digital camera that I could take a picture with.
I imagine you mean the ram-rod is stuck in the thimbles, I had this happen to me once because the wood swelled up from using the gun in the rain and it wouldn’t pull out.
