So I am reading the following story

Los Angeles police under scrutiny in Jackson death

Can anyone tell me why LAPD is working a case in Santa Barbara County? I assume that they have police in Santa Barbara. I assume that SB County has a coroner who can do death investigation. Why would you invite the LAPD?

The rented mansion where Jackson collapsed is in Holmby Hills, part of the city of Los Angeles. He was pronounced dead at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, also in LA. Jackson hasn’t lived at Neverland for years.
