A couple of months ago, in this thread, we were discussing underrated guitarists, and I mentioned Chris Smither - he’s one of my favorite guitarists, and I bring him up a lot. Labdad mentioned that he would be going to Jorma Kaukanen’s Fur Peace Ranch this summer for a guitar workshop, and that one of the instructors was Chris Smither. When he returned from the class, he sent me an email that included:
I got the poster in the mail today - I love it. So, a great big Thanks! to Labdad.

My pleasure, Enginered! I thought about asking Chris to sign it “Best wishes to a Doper” but since he didn’t know about the Straight Dope, and since Fur Peace Ranch has a very strict no drugs, no alcohol policy, I was afraid it would be misconstrued.
