Ladies: Do you coordinate your underthings with your outfits?

Only thing I do is make sure I have white panties on with light colored pants and dark ones with dark pants.

Yep - always. I don’t even think about it anymore - I just grab the stuff that matches without thinking about it.

I like the idea of corsets, but I’m really, really, really short waisted. So, on me, they buckle in the middle which destroys the line they were supposed to create.

If I could custom make one - maybe. But over-the-counter just isn’t going to work.

I’m afraid I’m going to have to ask for cites, because I just ain’t buyin’ any of this.

Ah.
My only issue along those lines with corsets is that I have this one that seems to think it’s supposed to be about half a foot higher than it actually is. Which means discomfort when wearing it. Pity, because it looks really nice as long as I can get the bugger to stay put. Perhaps it was a helium balloon in a past life?

I posted, but it was eaten. I used to be into corsets and waist cinchers when I was in the SCA and also much more goth. Then I took up bellydancing (several years ago) and I’ve become less and less fond of restrictive clothing.

I would never think of it, besides the practical (dark bra/dark shirt, no visible panty lines, etc). Dear Og, who has the time or the compulsiveness?

Well me, obviously. I’m surprised at all the negitive responses, actually - I just thought it was pretty standard dressing practice - then if a bra strap or panty top accidently peek through, it’s less noticable because they’re the same color as the rest of the outfit.

Obviously, YMMV.

Yes, I do. And the panties have to match the bra.

I know. I know.

VCNJ~

I don’t care enough to match my undies to my outfit and I don’t have enough bra colors (38DD…hard to find without spending a fortune) to coordinate.
Hell, most of the time my socks don’t match my outfit and half the time my socks don’t match each other.

I concur. Data is much more useful than anecdotes.

I’m so relieved that I’m not the only one who does this. I was afraid it was bordering on OCD.
The weird thing is, I can’t stand for non-clothing items to match. A room with matching furniture gives me hives.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who does this, although I’m totally anal about socks. I have a sweater that I almost never wear with pants because I can’t find a pair of socks that match. Socks that don’t match my outfit can ruin my whole day.

Geez, it sounds less pathetic when I’m actually ransacking the sock drawer than to see it baldly in writing. I’m sick. Sick!

All of my undies are black, white, or beige. I choose the color that is least likely to show and embarass me. I tried to play with pretty undies, but the plain facts are that anything textured catches on and shows through; anything colored shows through; and the men I’m interested in are far less interested in my underwear than in what’s inside it.

Same here. Besides, even if you wear colors, black undies match everything by definition… because I Say So. (OK, so they don’t match white. Obviously, I don’t have much of anything white to wear… it’s got to be deep dark colors for me.)

I learned how to color coordinate (with a lot of valuable help from you Dopettes) because it was just too easy to wear nothing but black. Doesn’t take any imagination. However, having bought and worn lots of jewel-toned reds, purples, and deep blues, I still think nothing looks better than all-black. You can’t go wrong with it. Let me put it this way, I coordinate everything with my black eyeliner.

Most of my underthings are matched sets of white/cream/black/burgundy. However, when I’m home, I wear pajama pants and tank tops. The tops have to match my underpants as well as go with the pajama pants. The sad OCD part is that I buy pajama pants and tops to coordinate with my decorating scheme. That’s correct; I dress so that I don’t clash with the freakin’ sofa.

You wouldn’t get hives from my matching furniture, because I don’t do that. I’m not totally crazy. Only like 3/5s loony.

I am not all that bothered about what I wear on the outside, I hate clothes shopping and most of my wardrobe is made up of clothes my friends no longer want to wear. HOWEVER, underneath is a different story altogether. I have to have matching bra and knickers. Whenever I buy a new bra I get two pairs of knickers that match it. Shopping for underwear is a joy!

I like knowing that under my scruffy exterior I have fancy, colourful, co-ordinated underwear, and I like knowing that only I know…

Whew - good thing I don’t choose underwear based on what men like, otherwise I’d be hooped, being anatomically like a barbie and all…

My bras are all black, white, beige, except one, which is blue, yellow and green. I have a pair of panties of every colour and style imaginable, and yes, I do co-ordinate the panties with the outfit.

I have one pair of coral coloured cami knickers, that I always wear with a coral coloured top, and some turquoise panties that I wear with blue, green and turquoise tops (and the blue, yellow and green bra). Pink tops= pink thong, red top=red panties. I just feel more “done” when I match things.

I only ever wear black socks though.

I only ever coordinate my underthings with my outerthings when I know that at some point, later in the day, probably, a certain someone is going to be peeling off bits of outwear and seeing sexy underwear.
