Last year, I got my dad’s GF a 3.4 oz bottle of eau de perfume. It was either Beautiful or Paloma Picasso, but I can’t remember which. Neither can my dad, and he said, just get her another bottle of one or the other this year.
Now, if she’s still got half a bottle left, I don’t want to get her another one this year, because it feels lazy and unimaginative, esp. if I screw up and get her the same one as I got her last year. I can’t ask her because she won’t tell me. She’s one of those people who is all coy about gifts and tells her not to get her anything, which is not an option.
So my question is, how long would it take you to go through a 3.4 oz bottle of eau de perfume, if you’re alternating between it and another bottle?
I’m pretty fickle, so smaller bottles are better for me. I go through phases - when I’m stressed, it’s all about lavender, but other times it just depends. For Scottish society events I’ll wear heather, for interviews or not-Scottish events I have several other “stand-bys.” I’m not sure I’ve ever used up, to the last drop, a bottle.
My mom only wears Chantilly, and usually needs a refill around Chrsitmas and Mother’s Day, but I haven’t really paid attention to the measure.
That probably doesn’t help - I guess it just depends on the person and their “scent personality.”
Maybe instead of the perfume, some bath/shower gel and/or lotion, for layering? 'Tis the season of matching scent kits!
My dad is an “oh, don’t get me anything, I don’t want anything” type, and it makes me crazy. I swear, some year I’m going to call his bluff.
