Roomie likes Fendi for Women perfume. It would be nice to get her some for Christmas. Day-um! That stuff is expensive! $40 for 0.17 ounces. How much is that? I guess it’s ‘big enough’, since people buy that size. The 1.7 oz. one looks like a reasonable amount. But it costs $250.
Yeah, that’s barely travel size. Your roomie is high maintenance. A Google shows one at 3.4 oz for $47.
Edit: And if you get it at Ulta, you get free gifts.
I’m not finding it. But I do see that there are different kinds. She bought some at a perfume shop at the mall last year, and it was different from the kind she likes. She didn’t care for it much. I think this is the kind she likes.
She’s actually pretty low-maintenance.
Ah, okay. Well, she can’t complain if it only lasts 2 months.
Mine goes for around 3-4, but that’s because I don’t wear it every day and I never reapply.
edit: you’re a decimal off! You said .17 but it’s 1.7 oz! No wonder. That’s good for 6-12 months, depending on how often she sprays and how much (50 ml).
Nope. The $40 one is 0.17 oz/5 ml.
She only wears perfume when ‘going out’, like if we go to dinner or she has an interview.
OK, let’s clear up some confusion:
-
what CitizenPained Googled was almost certainly Fantasia by Fendi, an entirely different product.
-
What your roomie likes is apparently Fendi eau de parfum, a stronger mix than the eau de toilette, which you can also see on that page.
-
While the mini bottle you linked to is not a spray, the larger bottle of EDP is a spray, which implies that the EDP is on the fine line of “strong enough to dab on, but not so strong you can’t wear a little spritz.”
-
Which leads us to the critical question: does Roomie spray or dab? If she likes to dab a drop on the pulse points when she goes out once a week, that 5 ml bottle may last months, or even a year. If she’s used to going crazy with the spray – well, it won’t last so long.
-
And to answer what you asked, that bottle contains a teaspoon of eau de parfum, a medium-strength preparation of perfume oils, carriers, and solvents that is probably half the strength of a standard “just a dab” perfume, but significantly more concentrated than eau de toilette, and way more concentrated than a splash. Since they don’t appear to market plain perfume, I’m guessing this is on the strong side.
She rarely wears fragrance. I think her Fendi is a spray, but when she’s worn it you have to be close to smell it. She’s definitely not in the ‘more is better’ camp. I think it’s a spray, because I think I remember it being one when I asked to see the bottle once. She seems to have lucked into it a couple of years ago at a surplus merchandise store for like twenty bucks, and she’s been very sparing with it.
Ever see Always? She’s kind of like Dorinda Durston. Dorinda dressed in flannel and jeans and got her hands dirty. She gets into an argument with her boyfriend Pete on what he thinks is her birthday. ‘I’ll bet that [birthday present] is something you picked up at an airport gift store.’ Pete says, ‘Well, if you don’t want it…’ and throws the box away. It opens to reveal an evening gown. Dorinda sees it and says, ‘Girl clothes!’ and ‘It’s not the dress, it’s how you see me.’ Roomie is happy to wear T-shirts and jeans, but she likes to be a girl too.
So the tiny bottle will probably be fine. It just seems so… tiny.
