I think that’s excellent advice for people who are letting their panties ride a little too high about this: no need to make it a big deal. Either read the thread or don’t; either post in it or not. If you find yourself with sand in your hoo-haw over a mere thread o’ whimsy, you might consider turning off the computer and going outside for a breath of fresh air.
For the record, the paticular thread was closed because it had served its harmless purpose. It wasn’t violating any rules, but it had reached a point of being a bit too mundane and pointless. As I mentioned in the closing, twenty pages is a life long enough.

Just for perspective, folks, The Pit has been challenged plenty of times as nonessential. It’s a question of overall balance, doncha know. MPSIMS is social arm of the Dope, just as The Pit is for flaming.
Not every forum will suit every taste. I only rarely read GD because it makes me both impatient and bored. To each his own. If you don’t like something, skim right on past until you find something that floats yer boat.
