For about 15-years, I was a regular buyer+wearer of Lands’ End “Super-T w/pocket” T-shirts. They were perfect–consistent high quality, perfect fit, long-lasting.
Then in the early 2000s I bought a few that were wretchedly constructed, ill-fitting, generally crappy. Turns out that everyone’s favorite retailer–Sears!–had bought Lands’ End few years previously. What a coincidence.
So I haven’t shopped LE in years; I know Sears is no longer the owner; should I try again? How are their T-Shirts now?
I gave up on them awhile ago, too, and have not been back. Nowadays I buy them at LL Bean, who still make them pretty well. I hate the trend towards cheapo, thin, crappily-made clothing!
Then again, I recently discovered that Carhartt makes women’s t-shirts. I bought a long-sleeved one a month ago - it’s well-made, rugged and inexpensive. When short-sleeve t-shirt season starts in a couple of months, I’ll try those too.
