Large Age Difference In Couples

I’m curious; how is it a dating relationship and not simply a good friendship? What separates one from the other, in your experience?

Good question. Two reasons: Neither of us is looking for another partner, and if he went out of my life (or me his), he would be totaly irreplacable. You know when you’re in love with someone, and we are.

I don’t think the age difference would be the primary thing most people would find strange about your relationship.

If sexual attraction isn’t a factor, then obviously issues like age, appearance, and gender are going to be much less relevant.

My wife was 7 yrs older than me. I was 19 and she was 26. We started to have a power struggle by the time I was about 30. She seemed more mature in matters of finance although both of us were very responisble. I grew more emotionaly mature as far as how I handled conflict. I do believe age was one of the factors that eventually led to divorce but more because I probably changed more once I matured.
