I decided to check this show out since one of my favorite actors, Tom Selleck, was starting on the show this season. The season premiere did a good job of catching up those of us who had never seen the show before and introducing the characters. Got me up to speed on the basics very quickly.
The first half of the 2 hour premiere seemed to be resolving what happened last season finale. About halfway through Selleck shows up and the show and characters changed tone quite a bit.
All in all a very good and different if rather unbelievable show, I think I’ll be watching it from now on. It almost reminds me of Love Boat in a way, without so many guest stars.
I really like this show. There’s a lot of great characters. Danny and Delinda are both so incredibly hot and I think they have very good chemistry on the show, Sam is fun to watch and has some great lines, and now Tom Selleck who doesn’t appear to get older, only better. I will miss James Caan, though.
I can only hope Nikki Cox’s character, Mary, is gone for good. She just turned pathetic and crazy, and those huge, way-overdone lips didn’t help.
Yeah, I was sorry to see James go, but happy to be done with Nikki. Her character started out ok in the first season or so, but last season she just went a bit off the deep end. Still I hope at some point they explain what Danny wrote to her, and how she got the money to buy the house and get a new identity.
I also like the A.J. Cooper character. I think it’ll do some good to change the show up a bit. Although some explination about how/why he bought the casino would be nice. And does just paying back taxes mean that you own something? Wouldn’t there have been a longer paperwork drill for the government to sieze it, then auction it or something? shrug…oh well…guess that would have been a bit boring to watch.
