So, we’re about to take another pilgrimage to Las Vegas. We have a decent sized group going this year. One of the planned activities for one night is to go to a strip bar. About half of us really enjoy strip bars (I’m in this group). The other half is going along to hang out with friends and humor us. They are not going to be big spenders. Actually, none of us are going to be big spenders. We just aren’t from that income bracket.
I’ve been to Cheetah’s twice and enjoyed myself both times (even though I was pick pocketed once). I’ve also been to Glitter Gulch once. They would have to pay me a sizeable amount to return. This year we have been considering going to Scores. Does anyone know anything about it (ie. drink prices, how are the girls, experiences, tips, etc.)? Are there any other recommended places?
I know at least one Doper has an advice page for Vegas, but I seem to have lost the link. I also don’t remember if it covered strip bars. Thanks for any help!
I have had third dates that I thought were good… that still went more poorly than a trip to Olympic Gardens, and, as such, it gets three and a half pups out of five.
20 bucks got you in and two drink tickets to boot. beers were three bucks and there were more women than you could shake a stick at (and I can shake a stick at a LOT of women), including one of the “dancers” I had seen at Coyote Ugly the night before, and, most importantly, a six-foot number in calico boyshorts that made off with a LOT of my money. But that would have been a lot MORE of my money in any other major metropolitan area.

Regarding actual strip clubs in Las Vegas, the Spearmint Rhino is currently considered one of the classiest and most popular. $20 entry (locals get in free) and $20 lap dances…of course, charges can run up depending on drinks and other amenities.
However, if you read through that section of my site, you will note that all of these strip clubs are basically at your own risk. It is VERY wise of you to have a few non-drinking, less interested people going with you to keep an eye on the tab and other things.
I went about five or six years ago- I would imagine that inflation has taken its toll since then, but the cost of lap dances has always, to me, seemed to be $20.00.
Being a New Yorker, where you get shot if you LOOK at a dancer funny, I was absolutely gobsmacked by the amount one was able, encouraced, and even flat-out TOLD to do.
One foot on the floor at all times? Nope?
Keep my hands at my sides and just watch and enjoy? Got me lightly slapped and she PUT my hands where she wanted them; let’s just say that thirteen-year-old Scrappy would have lost it right there.
Of course, there is the standard amount of aggressive upselling, but that’s to be expected. Five hours and three hundred bucks was more than fine by me- I’ve spent that in two hours and gotten much less for my money in NYC.
Gliitter Gulch is the shittiest strip joint in Vegas, if not the planet.
My favorite spots are the Olympic Gardens and Deja Vu Showgirls. I liked the O.G. better when it had bunches of stages, but I still like the vibe of the place. There seems to be less bullshit than some of the other places. It’s a topless joint so it has a full bar. The girls are generally pretty good looking and fairly friendly.
Deja Vu Showgirls is full nude and has mostly really good looking women. The cool thing is that the lap dance room has “cubicles” with uphostered benches that you can lay on.
