Am I supposed to recognize the host from something? I don’t think I’ve ever seen him before.
So…it’s been a couple of years since the last season. Has it always been so easy to predict who’ll be moving on? I don’t recall it being quite so telegraphed in the past.
The host is a regular on “The Office”. And I guess I have bad powers of prediction because I was surprised at some of the people who moved through. For example, I didn’t think the Archie Bunker look-alike was funny, but I guess the judges disagreed.
Virtually every person to move on had an interview prior to the showcase. There were people who moved on that didn’t, but only one or two who were interviewed then failed to move on.
I was happy to see **James Adomian **on the show. He’s on the Comedy Death Ray Radio podcast and is one of my favorite guests.
I liked the first three seasons of this show, but the last time I watched (I don’t remember which season it was) was awful. Every single episode, it seemed to me, some of the funniest folks got eliminated and some of the least funny moved on. The clincher was a guy who did two impressions: Jack Nicholson and Christopher Lloyd. For heaven’s sake, that was barely funny in 1985. Yet unbelievably he moved on and I stopped watching.
I did have the show on in the background last night and thought some of the comedians looked promising, but I missed the very end so I don’t know who they gave tickets to.
When do they go to New York? Someone I went to high school with has been working standup in NYC and I’m interested to see if she shows up.
