I thought Myq was the funniest (followed by Tommy Johnagin) but I wasn’t expecting him to win. I’m in the target audience for his jokes (I’m a Jew who grew up in NY) and I knew most of America wouldn’t go for that, the success of “Seinfeld” notwithstanding. I got the impression that Mike DeStefano played a lot better in person then he did over the airwaves, but I still was surprised he only wound up 4th.
I don’t see why they would rush the season - every comic was funnier than Season One winner Dat Phan, and it’s not like NBC has a glut of superior programming to air instead - but they’ve done it before (Season 3 was cancelled before the finale could air on NBC; Comedy Central showed it instead).
Gee, thanks NBC.com for telling me who won before I could load the last episode on your website. It’s crap like this which causes me to stick to “other means” to watch your shows.
And even worse, it was the guy who shouldn’t have even made it past auditions. We already know that this show is rigged, but at least that Gabriel guy who got kicked off for cheating a couple years ago was a FUNNY token latino. It’s amazing how much better Iliza Shlesinger is than ANY of the contestants this year. I guess my pick would have been Tommy Johnagin, although none of the contestants who made it through impressed me. That hot single mom who got eliminated during the phase 2 stage was the funniest, IMO.
Season 3 of LCS was AWFUL, btw. It was obviously thrown together at the last minute, and who wants to see the EXACT SAME comics perform all over again? Just one of many dumb decisions NBC made in the 00’s.
BTW - Ralphie May (the runner up from season 1) does an INCREDIBLE set, consisting mostly of stuff he couldn’t say on NBC. Check him out.
I thought Roy and Tommy were the funniest (I liked I liza and Jeff equally well last season too), followed by MYQ and that both Felipe and Mike sucked compared to Rachel, the last woman to get knocked out.
