I think it would definitely make sense from a precautionary point of view, to suspend the offender until the movie has been out a few weeks. What’s to stop him from doing it again, fear of another warning? And in the meantime a bunch of posters are pissed off because the movie was spoiled for them.
As for mods moving slow, a lot of these decisions are made by consensus, and we have various demands in our lives as well as different schedules, so it can take time for everyone to weigh in. Thanks for your understanding.
I strongly agree. To reiterate in case anyone missed what Chronos said, the original TITLE of the thread contained nothing but a prominent spoiler for a major current movie, something that many of us saw without even opening the thread. I was hoping it was some kind of in-joke or something and not a real spoiler, but it seems not. Deliberate assholery. Should be an immediate ban, not a warning, imo.
I don’t see why everyone is so upset about it. The biggest scene in the movie is the flashback when Luke was in Mos Eisley with Obi-Wan and they went to the local Chinese restaurant. Obi-Wan, being a master, fired up the chopsticks and neatly served himself a big plate. Luke, being a klutz, soon had food all over the table, the wall, himself and even one piece up on the ceiling.
At that point, Obi-Wan said, “Luke…use the forks”.

Unfortunately, I haven’t seen the movie yet (I was waiting for Christmas weekend).
But having seen the thread, now I’ll expect that thing that was said to happen, whether it actually happens or not. So even if it’s wrong, it’s definitely a spoiler.
If he does it again, then I think I’m pretty confident in saying that it won’t just be a warning. And by that logic, a few weeks wouldn’t be enough, anyway: That might be long enough for this movie, but there’s always some new work or another that people would prefer not to be spoiled on.
Yes, perfectly fine to create a thread “Empire Strikes Back discussion (open spoilers)” (preferebly no spoilers in the initial post), but very bad to create a “Darth Vader is Luke’s father” thread (well known but hidden just in case ;))

I broke down yesterday and looked up spoilers for the last jedi. The spoilers the Terry the Tramp posted matched what I had read on multiple sites.
